The First Time ….., Part Twelve

1-The First time that an Italian player won three Scudetti with three different teams was in 1941, when Giovanni Ferrari won the title with Bologna.

He had previously won the title with Juventus (1931 thru 1935) and Internazionale Milano (Ambrosiana-Inter) (1938, 1940).

2- The First Time that a Manager in the French League scored in a match was on June 3, 1975, when Saint Etienne player-Manager Robert Herbin scored a penalty kick in the last match of the season (Troyes 5-1 win).

3- The First Time that a substitute was sent off occurred during the World Cup finals in 1978. Holland’s Dirk Nanninga had come on as a substitute in the 79^th minute for Pieter Wildschut in their match vs. West Germany (June 18, 1978, World Cup, West Germany 2-Holland 2).

He was sent off nine minutes later.

4- The First Time that a Belgian player ever played as a professional was in 1910, when Louis van Hege joined AC Milan from Union Saint-Gilloise.

He would remain there until 1915 and then return home.

5- The First Time that a match by the France National Team was televised (though not live) was for their match vs. England at Wembley on November 27, 1957 (4-0 England win).
