His longest spell was with AC Milan that he represented with
disctinction over a decade.
He was later assistant to Enzo Bearzot for the National Team,
managed the Olympic and U-21 squads, and was eleveated as National Team Manager
in 1996. He also managed Paraguay during the 2002 World Cup and also had two
separate spells (decades apart) managaing AC Milan.
He was the father of Paolo Maldini.
