April

Tele Santana made his debut as the Manager of Brazil.
West Germany defeated Austria (1-0).
Italy and Poland played in a (2-2) tie. Poland’s Zbigniew Boniek was suspended for this match after a row with journalists in Holland.
This was Italy’s Paolo Rossi’s last match before his suspension for the ‘Totonero’ scandal. He would be back in two years time.
Argentina played its first match of the year in a Friendly against an Irish Selection.
