The purpose of this section is to summarize the week in question, it is not meant to give a full statistical analysis of the matches.
We live in a viral age and all that information can be accessed.

Tuesday, October 16, 2018:

-Jose Mourinho has been charged by the FA for allegedly using abusive language after Manchester United’s win over Newcastle last week. He appeared to mouth the words “F%^^& off sons of b&*^%$s” (Source Sky Sports / Daily Mail Online)

-Holland Manager Ronald Koeman stated that Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk needed constant injections as he has broken ribs for two weeks.  (Source Daily Mail Online)

-Liverpool’s Sadio Mane has broken his hand while on International duty with Senegal.  (Source Daily Mail Online)

-Manchester City’s Danilo was injured in Brazil’s win over Argentina (1-0).  (Source Sky Sports online)

Wednesday, October 17, 2018:

-Sam Allardyce went back on his statement that Eric Dier is “as good as Sergio Busquets”. Allardyce stated that in career terms Dier is not better but on the night he was better, and he was just defending an under-fire player that many feel is not good enough. (Source Sky Sports online)

-Chelsea’s Cesc Fabregas has entered the Guinness of Records by becoming the fastest player to have 100 Premier League Assists. He achieved this landmark on December 31, 2016 (Chelsea 4-Stoke 2). It took him 293 matches to achieve this feat. (Source Sky Sports online)

-Former Arsenal Manager Arsene Wenger hinted that he might return to management in January.  (Source Sky Sports online)

-Arsenal’s Pierre-Erick Aubameyang has refused to play for Gabon National team. He refused to travel to Sudan, as he believed the plane carrying the players did not have enough quality players in it and returned to London.  (Source L’Equipe online)

-The English FA have confirmed that Shahid Khan has pulled out of a deal to purchase Wembley Stadium. (Source Sport Bible online)

-Former Manchester United star Paul Scholes stated that he is uncertain if Manchester United can win a title with a striker like Romelu Lukaku, adding that his game outside of the box is insufficient. (Source RTBF.be online)

Thursday, October 18, 2018:

-Tottenham Manager Mauricio Pochettino stated that he was ‘proud’ of his player Eric Dier’s slide tackle on Sergio Ramos in the (Spain 2-England 3 match). (Source AS.com online)

-Paul Scholes stated that Paul Pogba was successful at Juventus because he was surrounded by great experienced players (Buffon, Pirlo, etc). (Source Football Italia online)

-Zlatan Ibrahimovic has defended Jose Mourinho by saying the players are to blame and that no coach can work with miracles. (Source AS.com online)
Friday, October 19, 2018:

-Tottenham Manager Mauricio Pochettino expressed that he had no regret about the lack of Tottenham’s lack of transfers this summer. (Source Transfer Market Web online)

-Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen will demand to leave the club if he is not in the team by the end of the year. (Source Daily Express online)

-Jose Mourinho stated that he would not gloat over the weekend if Manchester United wins at his former club Chelsea over the weekend. (Source The Guardian online)

-Manchester United have been fined 15,000 Euros by UEFA for the late kick-off of their UCL match vs. Valencia. Jose Mourinho was also warned as the team bus got stuck in Traffic delaying the kick-off. (Source BBC Football online)

- According to some reports, Alexis Sanchez would like to leave Manchester United. (Source Calciomercato online)


Saturday, October 20, 2018:

- Manchester United Manager Jose Mourinho. Mourinho stated that he would love to sign Eden Hazard for the club. (Source Sky Sports online)

-At the end of the Chelsea-Manchester United (2-2) match, after Ross Barkley scored Chelsea’s equalizer in injury time, Chelsea Assistant Manager Marco Ianni goaded Jose Mourinho. Mourinho got up his bench to try to confront him but was held back by security. Afterwards both Maurizio Sarri and Marco Ianni apologized to him and Mourinho played down the incident. -After the Chelsea-Manchester United (2-2) match, Chelsea fans chanted “F*&^ Off Mourinho”, he responded by a three finger gesture reminding them of the three titles won there. (Source Sportbible online)

- Maurizio Sarri accused his players of disobeying his tactical orders by playing a long ball game against Manchester United after an hour. (Source Vivaro News online)

-West Ham’s Andriy Yarmolenko has suffered an Achilles injury and will be out for six months. (Source L’Equipe online)

-Jose Mourinho is to launch a ‘mole-hunt’ for an insider that has been leaking Manchester United lineups prior to the start of matches. (Source A Bola online)

-Jose Mourinho has ruled himself out of a potential Real Madrid Manager to replace Julen Lopetegui, stating that he was happy and wished to continue at Manchester United. (Source AS.com online)

-The FA has charged Chelsea Assistant Manager Marco Ianni with alleged improper conduct following his incident vs. Jose Mourinho. Mourinho himself was not charged. (Source Sky Sports online)

-Chelsea have authorized Derby to field their two on-loan players (Mason Mount and Fiyako Tomori) when the two sides meet in the League Cup at the end of the month. (Source Daily Mail online)

-Josep Guardiola stated that Manchester City are not yet ready to win the UCL. (Source vi.nl online)
