International Season 1990/ 91, Part 12 (June 1991)

June

Sweden hosted the Scania 100 Tournament as a dress rehearsal for next year’s Euros. Italy were victorious in thsi Tournamnet involving the Swedish hosts and USSR and Denmark.
Italy’s loss in a Euro qualifier in Norway (1-2) signalled the birth of the Egil Olsen era at Norway while signalling the end of the Azeglio Vicini era in Italy.
Wales won a memorable Euro qaulifier over Germany with an Ian Rush strike.
England went on a tour of Asia and Oceania.
Brazil and Argentina played in a tie (1-1).
Other South American Nations started playig friendlies to prepare for the Copa America in Chile in July.
The CONCACAF Gold Cup kicked off at the end of the month.
