November

Italy defeated England (2-0) to take the initiative in their World Cup Qualifying group. In the end this loss sealed England’s fate as far as their World Cup hopes.
West Germany defeated Czechoslovakia (2-0) in a friendly that was a re-match of the previous summer’s Euro Championship Final. Heinz Flohe scored Germany National Team’s 1000th goal in that match.
