István Bacsó

István Bacsó was a Hungarian footballer and coach. In the ’50s, he played in the Hungarian second league and then earned a coaching degree. He trained coaches for the profession at the Football Department of the Hungarian University of Physical Education. He was an assistant coach for several first division teams (Vasas, Budapesti Honvéd), head coach (Tatabányai Bányász, III. Kerületi TTVE, BVSC). As an assistant coach, he also helped three national team managers. He passed away on October 6 at the age of 91.

György Mezey

György Mezey was a Hungarian footballer and coach. In the ’60s, among others he played for TFSE, Budafok MTE, and Keszthelyi Haladás in the lower divisions. He was twice the Hungarian national team manager, the first time he led his team to the 1986 FIFA World Cup. World Soccer chose him as national team manager of the year in 1985. He worked in Kuwait (bronze medal at the Asian Games), Finland, and was a Hungarian champion with Budapesti Honvéd and Videoton. He died on October 8, 2025, at the age of 84.

József Hagyacki

The former Hungarian sports manager was a defining figure in Mezőkövesd football for more than two decades. He was a club manager who worked wholeheartedly and unconditionally for his beloved club and city. He played a decisive role in Mezőkövesd Zsóry FC winning the gold medal in the second division in the 2012/13 season, thus being able to play in the NB I for the first time in its history in the 2013/14 season. After being relegated, the team was promoted back to the first division by finishing second in the 2015/16 NB II championship. His dedication, perseverance and humanity will forever remain an example in the memory of the people of Mezőkövesd. He passed away on October 24, at the age of seventy-six.

The former Hungarian defender was originally a footballer for Videoton (he was even a member of the youth national team). The Székesfehérvár football team was in its prime at the time, and it was not easy to get into it, so he became a first-division player in Rákóczi SC in Kaposvár at the age of twenty-one. He spent his military service in the second-division team of Kossuth KFSE in Szentendre, then returned to Kaposvár. The excellent defender became a player for the second-division team Bakony Vegyész TC in Veszprém in 1980. After finishing his professional football career, he became a masseur for the team and was a member of the team's professional staff, winning a gold medal in the NB II, and then performing well in the NB I. Later, he was a masseur for the Fotex Veszprém SE men's handball team for a short time, with whom he won a Hungarian championship gold medal in 1995. During the last part of his active career, he worked at the City Stadium and performed various tasks in the field of facility management. News of his death came to light on November 15, at the age of sixty-one.

István Szűcs

As an inside defender, he became a first-class footballer in Diósgyőri VTK, and in 1977 he won the Hungarian Cup with the team. The elegant adjective best suited his game, so there was no need to use his physical strength at all. He spent his military service in the second-class Honvéd Papp József SE team. After leaving the military he transferred to Nyíregyháza. He was a member of the club's "golden team", which in 1980 reached the top division for the first time in its history. Here he became a stable topclass player. In 1984, he returned home to Diósgyőr, where he played for another four years, then finished at the lower-class Hejőcsaba. Here he began his youth coaching work, which he later continued in Diósgyőr until his retirement. After a long-term serious illness, he died on November 30 in Miskolc, at the age of sixty-nine.

László Farkas

The former Hungarian striker made his debut in the first division in the spring of 1968 for Szombathelyi Haladás. He was a regular for the team for the next ten years, scoring sixty-six goals in 240 NB I. (Hungarian first division) matches until his farewell in 1979, and was also a member of the 1975 Hungarian Cup silver medal team. The striker was the fourth most successful striker in Haladás. He was also a member of the youth and U21-23 national teams. He died in Szombathely on the morning of December 11, two days after his seventy-ninth birthday.
