Transfers that did not happen, Part Eighteen

1- In December 1992, Sao Paulo’s Brazilian star Rai had an offer to join Atletico Madrid. However, he chose to join Paris St. Germain for the following season.

2-In the summer of 1987, George Graham’s Arsenal wanted to sign Queens Park Rangers defender Terry Fenwick.
Arsenal offered £400,000 but QPR wanted £750,000 and the deal fell through.

3- In the spring of 1979, NASL’s Washington Diplomats wanted to acquire Argentina Captain Daniel Passarella.
However, they wanted to make their payments in 5 years (yearly installments).
The deal broke down as a result.

4- Having led Peru to the 1970 World Cup, Barcelona made an offer to Brazilian Didi to manage the club following the World Cup.
Didi refused as he wanted to stay loyal to Peru.

5- In April 1983, it was reported that Internazionale Milano wanted to sign Lazio striker Bruno Giordano.

They were allegedly ready to include Evaristo Beccalossi and Giuseppe Baresi as exchange as part of the deal.
