1910s
The
Holland and Germany matchups started in 1910 with home and away fixtures.
Holland were victors in the first two matches.
There
were many high scoring matches and Holland were the better team. The outbreak
of World War I would stop these series for nearly a decade.

1920s
The
frequence of the matches increased in the 1920s. Germany finally won its first
match (and away) in 1924. The Germans would be managed for most of the decade
and into the next by Professor Otto Nerz. The germans were in general better in
this decade, with future Manager Sepp Herberger also playing in the 1925
matchup.
