International Season 1984/85, Part 2


October

The European Champions France started their World Cup qualifiers at Luxembourg (4-0). Michel Platini left early in the second half and went directly to the airport to fly back to Italy for a League match the following day.
Portugal got an important win over Czechoslovakia in their group.
West Germany, Spain and Yugoslavia earned important wins in their groups.
Hungary defeated Holland at Rotterdam to take the option on the group.
This was Kees Rijvers’ last macth in charge of Holland. He resigned shortly thereafter.
