Franz
Beckenbauer made his debut as West Germany National Team Manager in a match at
Dusseldorf vs. Argentina (1-3 loss). Incidenytally his final match as National
Team manager would be against the same opponents and same Manager (Carlos
Bilardo) in 1990.
Beckenbauer
had convinced Felix Magath to return to the National Team fold. Uli Stilieke
played his last match for the Germans in this match.
Lothar
Matthaus, Andreas Brehme, Rudolf 'Rudi' Völler
were the only players to be involved in Franz Beckenbauer’s first match
and very last match against Argentina.
New
Yugoslavia Manager Milos Milutinovic saw his team demolished in Glasgow (1-6
loss).
Argentina
continued its successful tour by not only defeating West Germany, but also
Belgium.
Josef
Masopust made his debut on the bench for Czechoslovakia.
East
Germany played two matches on September 12th, against Greece and
England. In the match vs. England, Jaochim Streich made his 100th
appearance for East Germany.
The
European World Cup Qualifiers started. Iceland defeated Wales , while the
Republic of Ireland defeated USSR. Northern Ireland got an important victory at
home vs. Romania, while Hungary defeated Austria.

Hello, I've got a question about UNICEF Match on Jul 22, 1984. I'm looking for a detailed informations about that game, especially about substitutions during this game. Do you have any detailed informations, or at least a scans of magazines from July 1984?
ReplyDeletehello, i do not have the squad information, but i will look out and let you know, since i am looking for that info as well
DeleteHello, thank you for your answer. In fact I've got some informations about this game from this source: https://app.box.com/s/3t44e5caqcz3ufico14y (can be found here: http://www.funwhileitlasted.net/2013/03/14/july-22-1984-new-york-cosmos-vs-world-all-stars/), however the information about substitutions is smaller than I expected. From the film I know that 3 from 4 changes in NY were made right after Sanchez goal. Moreover, some changes in World XI were made in half-time (these players that somebody mark on list). So I'm looking for rest information I checked El Mundo Deportivo archive, however I found there nothing useful.
