International Season 1986/87, Part 4 (November 1986)


November

England defeated Yugoslavia (2-0) to take control of EC qualifying Group.
Hungary lost once again in their Group, this time to Greece. Scotland ended its goal famine by defeating Luxembourg (3-0).
Spain defeated Romania (1-0) in a key qualifier in their Group.
Italy won its first qualifier under Azeglio Vicini with a fine display vs. Switzerland (3-2).
France came away with a scoreless tie at East Germany. Jean Tigana attempted to play this match with the number 14 jersey, however the referee ordered him to play with number 6.
Holland was unable to defeat Poland at home (0-0).

  2. The first photo from Spain-Romania 1-0 (1986) is from Spain-Romania 1-1 (Euro 1984). Marcel Coras, romanian player from the right of this photo, has not played in the 86's match.
