International Head-to-Head –Part Eight, Italy and Czechoslovakia (..and Czech Republic and Slovakia)_part 2 (1930s)

1930s

Just like the previous decade, the two sides would face each other seven times, the most in any following decade.
Surely the sides would have met more had it not been for impending political conflicts that would lead to World War II.
Of these seven matches four were as part of the Dr. Gerö Cup and only one friendly in 1936.
The most famous match between the two Nations was the 1934 World Cup Final that Italy won (2-1) to win its first World Cup.
Italy were victorious four times in this decade and defeated Czechoslovakia away for the first time in 1937.
