International Season 1976/ 77, Part 3 (September 1976)


September

Charlie George played in his solitary cap for England in a friendly against Republic of Ireland.
David O’Leary earned his first cap for Republic of Ireland in the same match.
Rene Hussy was dismissed as Switzerland Manager on September 8th.  He was replaced in interim basis by Miroslav Blazevic, who took charge in their friendly vs. Austria.
The World Cup qualifiers in the European Zone started with Belgium defeating Iceland (1-0) at Reykjavik on September 5th.
