International Season of 1991/92, Part 2 (September 1991)

On September 26, 1991, Carlos Alberto Pareira was appointed as Brazil National Team Manager. This was his second spell as Manager after 1983.

Vicente Miera made his debut as Spain Interim National Team Manager in a win over Uruguay (2-1).

In the most high profile friendly, England were defeated (0-1) at home vs. West Germany. This was Graham Taylor’s first loss as England Manager.

Paul van Himst made his debut as Beglium National Team Manager in a Euro qualifier win (2-0) over Luxembourg.

Brazil lost in a friendly vs. Wales (0-1) with caretaker Manager Ernesto Paulo.

On September 2, 1991, Frank Rijkaard announced that he would end his International retirement and be available for selection by Holland again. He played in the friendly vs. Poland.

Carlos Queiroz managed Portugal for the first time in a friendly vs. Austria.

Bo Johansson managed Iceland for the last time in their friendly vs. Denmark.

Asgeir Elíasson managed Iceland for the first time in their Euro Qualifier win over Spain (2-0).

Kalman Meszoly managed Hunagry for the last time in their Euro Qualifier vs. USSR.
