András Toldi
András Toldi was a Hungarian footballer of the 2010s and 2020s. He played in the 3rd and 4th leagues, and during his career he also played for Sényő, Baktalórantháza, Mándok, Mátészalkai MTK, and Tállya. In civilian life, he was a history and physical education teacher at an elementary school in a small town. On July 3, he underwent surgery for a cartilage tear at the Kisvárda hospital, but after the operation, which started as a routine intervention, an unexpected complication occurred, which proved fatal 2 days later. He was thirty years old. According to the plans, he would have continued his career in Sényő again after his knee surgery.

Ottó Gömöri was a Hungarian footballer in the ’70s and ’80s. He played for Eger and Hatvan in the second and third leagues. He joined Videoton in 1984 and was a member of the team that reached the UEFA Cup final in 1985. Due to a series of injuries, his legs could not bear the physical exertion, and two years later he returned to second division Hatvan, where he finished his career. Later worked as a youth coach for the team until his death. He died on August 16 at the age of sixty-four after a long and serious illness.

Károly T. Lakat was a Hungarian sports journalist, the best known and most respected football writer. He played for the youth team of Ferencváros, then began his journalistic career at Népsport. He was an editor and columnist for the daily newspaper, the weekly newspaper Képes Sport and the monthly newspaper Labdarúgás. He also worked as an editor and editor-in-chief at Nap TV. Until his death, he was a journalist for the weekly newspaper Sport Plusz. During his career, he received many awards, honors and recognitions, and wrote nearly a hundred books about football. He died unexpectedly on August 20.

Győző Martos was a Hungarian footballer in the ’70s and ’80s. He played for Ferencváros, Volán SC and Waterschei (Belgium). He played in final with Ferencváros and in semi-final with Waterschei in the European Cup Winners' Cup. Between 1977 and 1983, he played 34 times for the national team. He played in two World Cups: in Argentina in 1978, in Spain in 1982. After his career ended, he was the president of Volán and the Budapest Football Association (BLSZ). Until his death, he worked as a match inspector for the Hungarian Football Association. He had several known illnesses, but despite this, he died unexpectedly on September 3 at the age of seventy-seven.

Gyula Lauber was one of the iconic referees of Hungarian football. He qualified in 1963 and made his debut in the first division (NB I.) in 1975. By 1984, he had officiated 109 first-division matches. Between 1977 and 1982, he was a member of the FIFA and UEFA refereeing team. After retiring from his active career, he participated in the training of younger colleagues and also served as a referee inspecor commissioned by the MLSZ (Hungarian Football Federation). He passed away on September 4th at the age of eighty-nine.
