-Egypt Manager Hector Cuper chose not to risk Mohamed Salah and he stayed on the bench in today’s match vs. Uruguay. Veteran goalkeeper Essam El-Hadary who could have become the oldest player in the history of the World Cup was also on the bench. (Source BBC Football Online)

-A billboard in Iran that showed support for the Nationa Team for the World Cup was replaced following criticism that it did not feature any women. The new one does feature several women. (Source BBC Football Online)

-Colombia’s James Rodriguez and Wilmar Barrios missed team training and instead trained in the weight room as they were suffering minor ailments.  (Source Sport Bild Online)

- France Manager Didider Deschamps that all players are fit including Djibril Sidibe. He also praised Antoine Griezmann’s decision to stay with Altletico Madrid. -Uruguay Manager Oscar washington Tabarez became the fifth manager to manage the same Nation in four World Cups (1990, 2010, 2014 and 2018). -Iran’s win over Morocco was their first World Cup win in 20 years since they defeated USA (2-1) in the 1998 World Cup. 

-Iran did not have a single shot in the second half. They became the first team since 1966 to score a goal in a half of World Cup football without attempting a shot.
